This package is developed over two stages. You may choose to go with Stage One or Stage One & Two, however, we recommend you proceed with both stages to ensure the design is constructed as intended. Each of the two stages are outlined below.

STAGE ONE: CONCEPT DESIGN

The proposed ideas in Stage One will conceive the project as a whole, whilst simultaneously considering intimate details to ensure exceptional outcomes. Design concepts will be generated through a computer generated 3D model.
The designs are informed by site specific observations and allow our Out From The Blue Landscape Architects to offer imaginative creations which respond to the requirements of each client.
Two Concept Designs will be presented with:
- AutoCAD plans
- a 3D computer generated 'walk-through' the space
- 3D computer generated views
- a selection of suggested materials
- a plant palette
We will then meet with you in our office to present and discuss the concept package, at this time we will also discuss the relative costs of each pool design. A package of printed plans and a CD containing a digital presentation and documents will be compiled for you to take home.

* Please note this fee may be subject to alteration in circumstances where the project site is considered to be unusually large or complex. In such cases an appropriate fee proposal for Stage One Design will be provided prior to commencement.

STAGE TWO: DOCUMENTATION OF DESIGN | ADVISE & COMMENT

DOCUMENTATION OF DESIGN
Documentation of the concept design is carried out in Stage Two. Documentation refers to the precise architectural construction drawings prepared to facilitate quotation and subsequent construction by a landscape contractor. These drawings are produced using AutoCAD (Computer generated drawings). Stage Two design involves detailing your design to a highly accurate level to achieve an exceptional outcome exactly as intended by the landscape architect. This stage can be considered identical to the process of obtaining architectural drawings from which your house is built. We strongly recommend that the project is documented to achieve the best possible outcome and to ensure that your concept is translated into its intended physical form.
All finishes, materials, specifications, dimensions and colours will be finalised as part of Stage Two design.
The drawings prepared may include a landscape specification, master plan of hard and soft works, details of feature elements, sections and elevations, construction details and plant schedule. Where required we may need to research materials, construction techniques or liaise with specialist contractors.
Out From The Blue is not a landscape construction company (however we do build swimming pools). Once your documentation package is complete we can introduce you to a selection of reputable contractors with a proven track record that are suitable to construct your project.
ENGINEERING
Please note that any structural design/engineering required will be contracted to a certified architect or engineer, this will be at an additional cost.
Once the landscape contractor understands the plans he will make a final decision on which structures will require engineering and subsequently this will be factored into the landscape contractors quote. Typically stand alone structures.
ADVISE & COMMENT
This service includes:
- Calling of landscape quotes
- Co-ordinating Lighting Design
- Site meetings with chosen Landscape contractor before and during construction.
- Co-ordination and supervision of pool construction with landscape contractor, lighting installation, electrical, plumbing & other licensed trades.
- Site visit on completion of project.

| A fee proposal will be prepared for each client based on the landscape budget, the specific requirements of the project and the estimated hours to complete documentation. Typically the more customized or complex particular features are to construct, the more detail they require when they are documented |

| These fees will be factored into the Stage Two fee proposal and similarly will vary depending on the magnitude of the project. |
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Any additional meetings for stage one or two will be invoiced as per the fee schedule below.
Additional services may include:
- Liaising with other architects & contractors.
- Organising council applications and permits.
- Liaising with council.
- Organising engineering.
